FAQs
What's the difference between the Bluedot Chrome extension and the desktop app?
The extension records anything that runs in your browser — Google Meet, Teams in a tab, Webex, webinars — plus screen recordings. The desktop app is for calls that open in their own application, like Zoom and Teams on desktop.
Will other people know I'm recording?
Bluedot’s Chrome extension doesn’t use a bot, so nothing shows up in the participant list. Whether you tell people is your decision: there's an in-chat recording notification you can switch on or off. Recording laws differ by country and by US state, so check what applies to you.
How do I record audio from a Chrome tab?
Install our Chrome audio capture extension, open the tab you want to record, click the Bluedot icon, and choose audio only.
It works as a tab audio recorder and a mic recorder, so both sides of any conversation are transcribed. You can also record browser audio from any site.
Can I use Bluedot to record Loom style videos?
Yes! With the Bluedot Chrome extension, you can record your screen with your camera or just your screen. It's perfect for creating video tutorials, product demos, and quick walkthroughs.
How to screen record on Chrome
Click “screen record” on our Chrome extension and choose Start recording. The Chrome recorder captures your screen, your camera if you want a talking head video, and the audio.

Record every meeting. No bot on the call.
Add Bluedot to Chrome and record any meeting in your browser. Nothing joins your call, and you get a transcript, a recording, and notes when you’re done.
